Kobe is a city of beautiful contrasts, uniquely positioned between the deep green mountains and the vast blue sea.
This Kobe guide is designed to lead you through the real-life locations that inspired the "Architecture of Silence" in KOBE Diorama Adventure (kodiad).
Beyond famous landmarks, we invite you to experience the "quiet rhythm" and the "scent of memory" that define the soul of our Kobe art project in the Kobe metaverse.
The Urban Waterfront: Harborland & Meriken Park

Located at the heart of Kobe's waterfront, this area is a popular destination where modern shopping meets the open sea.
As seen in the photo of the umie commercial facility, the area offers a vibrant yet peaceful atmosphere where the sea breeze flows through the open-air walkways and glass architecture.
- Landmarks: Nearby, the red lattice of the Port Tower and the ship-like silhouette of the Oriental Hotel stand as dual symbols of the harbor.
- Connection to kodiad: In the Kobe metaverse, this area serves as your starting point. We have recreated this seaside rhythm so your adventure begins with a sense of peace and clarity.
The Blue Horizon: Suma Beach & Western Coast

The western coast of Kobe offers a "nostalgic rhythm" where time feels as though it has slowed down.
- Suma Beach: Famous for its "white sand and green pines," this area feels like a relaxed resort reminiscent of the U.S. West Coast.
- The Presence of the Horizon: While massive structures like the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge are not physically built in kodiad, the specific blue of the sea they represent is woven into the game's atmosphere.
The Pastoral Hills: Nishi-ku Area

Nishi-ku is a place where the "quiet rhythm" is defined by the earth and the seasons.
- Countryside Scenery: Surrounded by greenery, this area is home to thriving agriculture, including horticulture, rice farming, and vineyards.
- Inspiration from the Soil: The stillness of the afternoon in Nishi-ku inspires the textures and colors used in kodiad to represent a "quietness even when people are around".
The Suburban Rhythm: Suzurandai Area

Kobe's charm extends into its quiet suburbs, where the air is clean and the history of daily life remains deep.
- A Historical Retreat: Suzurandai prospered in the 1920s as a summer resort and luxury residential area.
- Contrast in the Metaverse: In our diorama world, this quiet residential memory has been transformed into a mysterious area occupied by monsters, creating a sharp contrast between peace and danger.
The High Peaks & Hot Springs: Rokko & Arima

To understand the "vertical rhythm" of Kobe, one must climb to the heights where the earthy scent of the mountains begins.
- Mt. Rokko: At the top of the mountain, you can find a peaceful ranch (Rokkosan Pasture) where you can enjoy nature and meet the resident sheep far above the urban grid.
- Arima Onsen: Located at the foot of the mountain, this famous hot spring area is the perfect place to soothe your body after a long journey.
