🛍️ KOBE Guide: Marine Pia Kobe — The Relaxed Rhythm of the Western Waterfront

🌊 Overview

Located in the Tarumi district, Marine Pia Kobe (Mitsui Outlet Park) is a popular coastal shopping destination.
With its open-air mall design and proximity to the sea, it offers a resort-like atmosphere where the sea breeze flows through the streets.

⚓ A Space for Quiet Moments

What makes this place special is not just the shopping, but the sense of "Ma" (intentional space) found in its wide walkways and the view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge nearby.
Even when people gather here, there is a certain "quiet rhythm" that reflects the gentle nature of Kobe’s western coast.

🎮 Connection to "kodiad"

In KOBE Diorama Adventure (kodiad), I focus on capturing the essence of Kobe’s diverse waterfront.

While Marine Pia Kobe is not specifically reproduced in the game, its architectural color palette and the "open feeling" of the western coast have heavily influenced the Suma area of my diorama world.
As I’ve shared in my philosophy, I build Kobe from memory, not as a replica.
The way the light hits these pale-colored walls and the way the wind feels here are the "small impressions" that I weave into @thesandboxgame to make the world feel alive.

🚶 How to Visit

To experience this coastal shopping atmosphere:

  • By Train: Take the JR Sanyo Line or Sanyo Railway to Tarumi Station. It is about a 10-minute walk from the station.
  • The View: Walk toward the sea to find a beautiful park area with a stunning view of the sunset and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
